Emery Rubagenga

Emery Rubagenga is a Rwandan businessman, passionate about Africa’s development in all aspects and driven by a sincere desire and commitment to make a difference in Africa’s quest for self-sufficiency in this genereation. Mr Rubagenga is also the Honorary Consul of Barbados in Rwanda and has been in the mining industry for the past 14 years as CEO of ROKA, a company in the mining of tin (Sn), coltan (Ta₂O₅) and wolfram (W₂O₃) exploiting three concessions covering a total area of 14 hectares with rich reserves of cassiterite and coltan and granted licenses for mining six other sites and research rights to 24 wolfram sites, with a turnover of over USD 13.8 M. Mr Rubagenga is also the founder and CEO of Ishango Consulting Limited, a customer centric consulting firm with latest technology and human capital to support and guide clients with unmatched quality , personalized and innovative business solutions maintaining high integrity, dedication, sincerity, honesty and efficiency. His passion for entrepreneurship has led to mentoring several young Rwandans to become successful entrepreneurs through his work as the first vice president of the Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs of the Rwanda Private Sector Federation. Mr Rubagenga has also received the highest Junior Chamber International (JCI) honor as the JCI Senator (unique tribute paid to an individual for dedication and outstanding service on the national level). Mr. Rubagenga is also the founding member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) – Africa Great Lakes Chapter and has in that regard spearheaded various international events promoting foreign investments in East Africa and has facilitated this region's visibility within YPO membership in London, Hong Kong, Dubai, Paris, Toronto, and Washington-DC, Mr Rubagenga served as the chapter chair for YPO Africa Great Lakes and is currently serving on the International Board of Directors of YPO. Rubagenga serves on several boards in Rwanda’s private sector as well as international corporations ranging from Technology companies and breweries to energy and education. He has been the local representative of PUM-Netherlands (Netherland Management cooperation program), an organization that aims to empower the private sector through connecting entrepreneurs in developing countries and emerging markets with senior experts from the Netherlands who devote their knowledge to mentoring and coaching. Rubagenga has been called upon to serve on the advisory boards of several companies/organizations BBOXX Africa; Agahozo-Shallom Youth Village; Skol Brewery, and ITM-Africa, JA Africa, Bloc Fund the first impact fund in the world that uses blended finance, launched by Bamboo Capital Partners, . Rubagenga currently serves on the board of trustees of the Africa Wildlife Foundation, founded in 1961 it is the oldest international conservation organization focused solely on Africa.
